Fernando Szew has been appointed the director of Fox Entertainment Global, the newly established department is in charge of managing all of the company's production and distribution alliances abroad.
Szew is best known for founding and leading the TV movie powerhouse MarVista, which Fox Entertainment purchased in a deal reportedly worth more than $100 million in December.
Szew will be in charge of Fox Entertainment Global's international sales and platform distribution of all Fox Entertainment series. He will answer to Stefan Reinhardt, Fox Entertainment's president of production strategy and operations.
Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier noted that FOX Entertainment Global would be a strategic complement to Fox Entertainment's long-term strategy of "building a disciplined in-house infrastructure that supports its growing portfolio of owned content. "This newly formed distribution arm is uniquely positioned to develop customized international partnership opportunities, particularly apropos as so many competing programmers focus solely on vertical integration," Collier said.
The official debut of Fox Entertainment Global will take place at the international television convention Mipcom in Cannes the following month. The upcoming animated series Krapopolis from Fox Entertainment, written by Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon, Grimsburg, starring Jon Hamm, and the single-camera mid-season comedy Animal Control are among the programs Szew will be marketing to international buyers. Animal Control is created by the written production division of Fox Entertainment Studios, while Krapopolis and Grimsburg are both animated series created by Fox Entertainment's Bento Box Entertainment.
The Masked Singer, I Can See Your Voice, Domino Masters, and Studio Ramsay Global are among the unscripted programs produced by Fox Alternative Entertainment, a part of Fox Entertainment that is also home to renowned chef Gordon Ramsay. Fox also owns the entertainment website TMZ and the ad-supported streaming service Tubi.
