A new release date for Loki Season 2 has been announced as the scandal and abuse claims surrounding Kang actor Jonathan Majors get more serious.

The eagerly anticipated Loki sequel, which will feature Kang from Jonathan Majors' Avengers 5 film, is a significant MCU chapter. But the actor is accused of abuse, assault, and harassment, which he and his team continue to deny, so his future is still in doubt.

Hollywood trade had an update to share regarding Loki Season 2's Disney+ release as part of Variety's most recent story on Jonathan Majors' ongoing alleged abuse lawsuit.

According to the source, after a number of changes, Loki Season 2 is currently anticipated to air on Disney+ in the middle of 2023. Secret Invasion, a six-episode event, will likely wind up on July 26 and will be the next Disney+ series from Marvel Studios.

Actor Owen Wilson, who plays Mobius, recently stated that he anticipates Season 2 to premiere "at the end of the summer or in September." Meanwhile, insider KC Walsh asserted that he had learned of a plot to release Loki in September.

The actor is rumored to return as other Kang Variants, including the 20th-century genius Victor Timely, who was hinted to in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Majors' scenes for the Loki sequel have long since been shot.

Despite having "time to move deliberately," Variety claimed that Disney is "monitoring" the issue as it gradually worsens. This is especially true considering that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty won't begin production until spring 2024.

Kang, played by Jonathan Majors, is rumored to play a more significant role in Loki Season 2 than he did in Season 1, progressing to at least three episodes as opposed to his one-episode ending role in the rookie outing. This time around, the actor will reportedly bring to life several Kang Variants as part of this.

It is claimed that this is related to Loki and Mobius' quest to find Kang Variants throughout the Multiverse in order to "map out and see the extent of their control across time." The scary Victor Timely from Ant-Man 3 will be one of these Variants, and he seems to have an intriguing role to play in Season 2.

Majors will probably need to be extensively involved in the marketing because the season's climax will include the Avengers villain in a key role. It goes without saying that this will not be an easy assignment if the actor is unable to put an end to this dispute and ultimately demonstrate his innocence in court on May 8.

According to the most recent update, Marvel Studios is currently "discussing options" with Majors' team as the situation develops. However, a recent rumor said that if the situation deteriorated to the point where a recast was necessary, the studio may look for an actor in the Damson Idris mold to replace Kang.

Majors reportedly plays a key role in Loki Season 2, and since filming is already well underway, it is practically impossible to reshoot his scenes with a new actor. Because the season seems to be in good health and will be available in either August or September, the likelihood of a delay is low.
