Steven Yeun has broken his silence about leaving the role of Sentry in Marvel's Thunderbolts.
This film is Phase 6 of the Multiverse saga starring Florence Pugh's Black Widow, David Harbour's Red Guardian, and Sebastian Stan as James 'Bucky Barnes' also known as the Winter Soldier, and is based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It is planned to depict an anti-hero unit in an unreleased story.
Following Yeun's recent announcement that he was leaving the role of Sentry prior to filming, The Walking Dead star revealed the reason for his departure.
In an interview with Variety, Yeun attributed his departure to scheduling conflicts and delays in the film due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
“I think the passage of time and changing circumstances somehow saved me from this situation, But I know Jake (Schreier, director) is going to do an incredible job."
Breaking free from challenges to filmmakers: "I'm really sorry, I had to leave, It took me a number of email drafts to sincerely express that I wanted to do it.''

When asked about the possibility of a future Marvel role, Yeun said, "I think it's too early to say, I've pissed people off too much so I'm just going to say it."
"I have some ideas... but I heard you'll never get them if you put them out there, so I'll keep them close to me, Keep them close to your heart."
It has been confirmed that Yeun, who played Glenn Rhee in zombie series The Walking Dead,'' will be joining the cast in an undisclosed role in the new MCU movie "Thunderbolts".
The role, coincidentally, was confirmed by Robert Kirkman (creator of the Prime Video series Invincible, in which Yeun stars as the title character) during an interview late last year.
It is currently unknown whether the role will be shortened or the cast changed.
