Andor Season 2 is one of the most anticipated additions for Star Wars fans, but the latest updates regarding its release may disappoint many.
After Andor's first season concludes in November 2022, head writer and showrunner Tony Gilroy has stated that a previously confirmed second season will arrive on Disney+ in the summer or fall of 2024.
Gilroy confirmed this goal approximately a month later at Star Wars Celebration 2023, stating that production on the second season would take place over a similar period of time as the first season, and that the show would remain on schedule at that time, He said that it is progressing.
The official press release from Disney announcing upcoming releases in 2024 omitted the upcoming second season of Star Wars: Andor.
This doesn't officially confirm that Andor Season 2 won't be released next year, but it does make it more likely that the premiere will be delayed to 2025.
The latter option is more likely because the list included Marvel Studios' Agatha: The Darkhold Diaries, which is rumored to be released in September 2024. However, the timing has not been officially announced.
However, with The Darkhold Diaries on this list and the second season of Andor excluded, the hit Star Wars series will be released at its original 2024 release date. It is highly likely that it has been postponed.
Star Wars originally had five different live-action and animated shows confirmed to be released in 2024, the other live-action shows being ``The Acolyte'' and ``Skeleton Crew.''
The animation side of Star Wars will be in the spotlight with Season 3 of The Bad Batch and Season 2 of Tales of the Jedi.
The delay until 2024 is significant, considering Andor is arguably his most successful Disney+ series in Star Wars history.
Fans are eager for more action as Lucasfilm and Disney look to get back to work.
Unfortunately, the summer 2023 writers and actors strike severely affected the production of the second season, and filming was partially delayed, especially considering that the first season took over a full year to produce.

Season 2 has already been touted by Gilroy as being "very different" from its predecessor, with the next few episodes covering a full four years of action between the end of season 1 and the events of Rogue One.
And after the cast of The Direct revealed that the various storylines from Season 1 will "start to intersect" in this sequel project, we can't wait to see how these adventures translate to the big screen.
There is currently no official release date for Andor Season 2 on Disney+.
