The fourth and final season of the beloved comic book series The Umbrella Academy has been officially announced by Netflix.
The release date for Umbrella Academy season 4 has been disclosed.
The Netflix series centres on the adopted and dysfunctional family of superpowered Hargreeves brothers, who come together to unravel the mystery surrounding their father's death and avert an approaching apocalyptic disaster.
It is based on the comic novels written by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way.
The unconventional comic book adaption, which has been a Netflix original series since 2019, is set to conclude with its fourth season.
The Umbrella Academy season 4 will launch on Thursday, August 8, according to Netflix.
With the hashtag "Brellies forever," which is a moniker for the show's devotees, the streaming service announced the release date for the last season on Twitter/X.
Character posters for the upcoming season are also included in the post, as can be seen above.
Most of the major cast of Umbrella Academy, including Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Ritu Arya, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Justin H. Min, Aidan Gallagher, and Colm Feore, who are each featured in their respective character poster above, will return for the final season.
Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, who are real-life married and play Dr. Gene and Jean Thibedeau, a polite married couple and community college teachers, are new cast members for season 4.
Comedian David Cross portrays Sy Grossman, a bashful businessman yearning to make amends with his daughter he split up with.
The final episodes of The Umbrella Academy are anticipated to begin following the conclusion of season three, despite official plot details being kept under wraps.

Season 4 of the show is going to explore ground not yet explored by the comics, and as it most likely takes inspiration from the unpublished fourth plot known as "The Sparrow Academy," it's unclear what the future holds.
The siblings should, however, be fighting to reclaim their abilities in season 4, seeing additional doppelgängers, and existing in a timeline controlled by Reginald Hargreeves.
Expect the episodes to be more intense than ever because this is the last season.
